Weird Blinking Lights (WBL) was formed in Santa Cruz, CA in 1991 as a collective performing lighting and multimedia at raves and other music centric alternative events. WBL began performing music at rave ambient rooms, parties, art galleries, corporate events, and college radio stations in 1992. The original sets featured vintage analog performance synths such as the Roland Jupiter-4 Compuphonic, Roland SH-101, Roland System 100, Yamaha CS-5,  and Steiner EVI as well as select digital FM synthesizers. Self written software including multi Macintosh MIDI sequencers were also deployed.

Images and audio of early sets as well as current output is available on the social links above.

WBL's mission continues based in the New York metro area, Santa Cruz, CA, and San Francisco, CA.

Special mention goes out for the New York Modular Society featuring modular synth events where WBL can be found.
